Getting Ready

Once your wedding date is fixed, to start with decide on your theme color. Shop for your trousseau and outfits of the bride’s maid and flower girls. Select the patterns and give the order to your tailor at least 2 months in advance. Decide on your bridal attire and matching accessories with it. Conventionally a catholic bride selects a white bridal gown. To keep in tune with the modern trends pastel colour's for the wedding gown are also considered. Shades of purple, pink, peach are also in vogue. Select a pattern to which suites your personality. For the perfect appealing look, complement your bridal gown with matching accessories such as jewelry, the crown, gloves, veil, shoes etc.

Keep all documents required for the church and civil registration ready to avoid last minute confusion. Select the decoration for the church and the flavours. Decide on the centerpiece and take away for the guest. Place an order for the wedding cake. Order the wedding ring for your fiancé. Select a florist, choir group for the church ceremonies.

Two weeks before the wedding try out your wedding gown and get your brides maid and flower girls to try out their outfits so that alterations can be done if required. Check the guest list to make sure you haven’t missed out your friends or relatives.

A few weeks before your wedding fix appointments with the beauty parlour, hairdresser. Have a final trial of your wedding gown along with all the other accessories.

On the Great Day ask a friend or relative to confirm the time with the beautician and hairdresser. Start dressing 2-3 hrs before the function so that you can dress at leisure. Undoubtedly with this well planned schedule there will be no last minute mess. Keep cool and enjoy the entire function because it won’t come again.
